Boarding kennels & cattery across Manchester & Tameside
We're at Springbank Farm, Tan Yard Brow, Gorton, Manchester M18 8UJ — not in any of the towns below, but a short drive from all of them. Here's roughly how far, so you can see at a glance whether the trip makes sense.
Springbank Farm Kennels & Cattery is a family-run boarding kennels and cattery set within two acres of conservation land in Gorton, just off Hyde Road (A57). We've been looking after dogs and cats here for over 50 years, and every pet in our care is treated as if it were our own.
We're not a collection service, so pets come to us rather than us travelling to them. That's why we've listed the real distances below rather than claiming to be on everyone's doorstep: it's the quickest way for you to judge whether the trip makes sense, especially before booking a holiday.
Distances are measured from each town centre and rounded up to allow for traffic. If your area isn't listed above, get in touch and we'll tell you honestly how far away we are.

Before you set off
Which areas do you actually cover?
We look after dogs and cats from right across Manchester, Tameside and the Stockport area — the towns listed above are simply the ones we're asked about most.
If your area isn't listed, get in touch and we'll tell you honestly how far away we are.
Do you offer collection and drop-off?
Not at the moment, no. Your dog or cat will need bringing to us at Springbank Farm and collecting when their stay is over.
Can I look around before I book?
Yes, we welcome viewings by appointment, whatever area you're travelling from — worth knowing if you're coming over from Stockport or Ashton.
Is there parking?
Yes — there's free parking on site at Springbank Farm.
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes — kennels and cattery space gets booked up, especially around school holidays, so it's best to book as early as you can. See our prices for deposit details, or get in touch to check availability.
Ready to book your dog or cat in?
Wherever you're travelling from, we're open Monday to Saturday for viewings by appointment. Call us and we'll find you a slot.
